How was this states meet different from previous years?

O: “I feel like this one, there was just a lot more motion and a lot more energy, partly because I knew it was my last one, and partly because we had a lot of girls there and our relays placed really well. The girls just brought a lot of energy and positivity”

Ryan Reutti, 12

7th Place: 100m Backstroke

Q: How has this season been different than other seasons? “It’s kind of surreal that it’s my last year..I’m going to miss it a little bit. Not really. [laughs] It’s just my last year and I’m trying to make the most out of every last practice.”

Sonora Baker 11

How was your relay team’s chemistry (both teams) and how did that translate to your performance at states?

S:“We get along really well and that definitely improved our performance in the water. Before every swim we got really excited and encouraged each other. It seemed we weren’t just swimming for ourselves, we were swimming for the whole team and wanted to make each other proud. Relay swims are always the most fun and having a team that supports you makes them even better/faster.”
