ATLEE HIGH SCHOOL-ATHLETICS 

8TH GRADERS ARE PERMITED TO PLAY HIGH SCHOOL JV IN THE FOLLOWING SPORTS:

Fall Season — VOLLEYBALL (Boys & Girls), CROSS COUNTRY (Boys & Girls), FIELD HOCKEY

Winter Season — INDOOR TRACK (Boys & Girls)

Spring Season — LACROSSE (Boys & Girls)

 ALL ATHLETES TRYING OUT FOR A FALL SPORT MUST HAVE A VHSL (Virginia High School League) PHYSCIAL COMPLETED. IT MUST HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AFTER May 1, 2019.

*** You must bring this completed physical to participate in any preseason workouts, weight training or tryouts in order to participate. All FIVE parts filled out with parent signature.  You must have private or school insurance.

THERE WILL BE FALL SPORTS PARENTS MEETING

August 13th 6:00 PM AT ATLEE HIGH SCHOOL 

ALL PARENTS OF FALL SPORTS ATHLETES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING.  TOPICS WILL INCLUDE ELIGIBILTY RULES, TRYOUT PROCEDURES, COUNTY/SCHOOL RULES, ATHLETIC TRAINING PROCEDURES, ATLEE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB INFORMATION, AND OTHER TOPICS CONCERNING ATLEE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS.   

CROSS COUNTRY:

First Practice:  August 5th – 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

**Email Coach Busch with questions regarding summer workouts and first practices.  In July, we will have a camp that is open to any 5th-12th grade student. High school students wishing to run for the cross country team are encouraged to participate in the summer camp. FIELD HOCKEY:

Tryouts Begin:  August 5th 8:00-10:00am

Summer Workouts: Mon, Tues, Thurs 7-8:30am *Beginning June 17*

FOOTBALL:

GOLF:

First Practice/Tryout:  August 7th and 8th — 4:30 PM at The Crossings

CHEERLEADING:

Coach:  Chris Hogan – chogan@hanover.k12.va.us     

Tryouts Begin: Monday, August 5th-Wednesday, August 7th (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

Summer Workouts:  Utilize local All-Star Cheer Gyms and Gymnastic Gyms to     improve skills.  Fees may be required.

VOLLEYBALL:

Tryouts begin: August 5th, 6-9:00 PM in the main gym. (beginning the 8th, practices move to 4:15 PM)

Volleyball Clinic:  July 29th – 31st, 6-9:00 PM in the main gym.
